Historic Gardens

I’m happy to share a few of the articles that I wrote in 2014 for a local non-profit organization, Connecticut’s Historic Gardens. In a series that I called “Notes from the Field,” I highlighted the fourteen (now sixteen) gardens in this consortium of heritage sites at museums and parks within the state. These gardens are maintained through ecological methods that are gentle on the earth.

“Groundbreakers” Exhibition

I also worked on an exhibition at New York Botanical Garden as an intern during graduate school. The exhibition, Groundbreakers: Great American Gardens and the Women Who Designed Them, featured a perennial garden with a moon-gate based on a historic landscape at Mount Desert Island, Maine.

The exhibition highlighted female landscape designers in the twentieth-century. I assisted with archival research and licensing for the exhibition catalog, augmented reality app, exhibit film, narrative audio tour, and other audio-visual components.

Groundbreakers was on view in 2014.
